Dua Lipa is a English musician and singer born on August 22, 1995 in London United Kingdom. Her self-titled debut was released in 2017 following her signed with Warner Bros Records. It peaked at third place in the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at sixth within the United States. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards as a British Female solo artist and British debut act in 2018. The album was rated platinum throughout the world. Dua Lipa was born in London on 22 August 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is the reason she has Bosnian ancestry. Additionally, her ancestors are from the Kosovo town of Peja. The grandparents of Lipa were both historians. Gjin along with Rina are her sisters. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the guitarist and singer in the Kosovan rock band Oda. His father would play music at home, including songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School was where she first began singing at the age of nine. Lipa covered Beautiful by Christina Aguilera as well as If I'm Not got You By Alicia Keys on YouTube. Lipa signed her first record deal in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
