Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is an American actor, singer and songwriter who was born February 20, 2003. She was first recognized for her leading roles on Disney's television shows Bizaardvark, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series in the latter half of 2010, and she continues to be a Disney TV star today. Rodrigo was able to release her first single Driver's License in 2020 after having signed with Interscope Records (Geffen) and Interscope Records (Interscope Records). It broke numerous records and became one her top songs in 2021. She followed it up with singles "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", and then released her first solo studio album Sour (2021), that was a critical and commercial success, winning various accolades like three Grammy Awards. A Disney+ documentary, Olivia Rodrigo: Driving Home 2 U, chronicling her creative process with Sour was released in 2022. Rodrigo is an Billboard Hot 100 singles number-one, one Billboard 200 album number-one, and has five multi-Platinum certificates from the Recording Industry Association of America. Alongside other awards she has also been awarded an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her 2021 Entertainer-of-the Year, while Billboard declared her Woman of The Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo is the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo (school teacher) and Chris Rodrigo (family therapist). She was born in Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta on February 20, 2003. She grew up in Temecula. [7] Rodrigo is Filipino American;[8] her father is Filipino while her mother has German and Irish roots. Rodrigo has said that her grandfather's family moved from the Philippines to the United States when she was an adolescent. Her family is also a part of Filipino customs and cuisine. Rodrigo began singing in kindergarten, and soon began playing the piano. [12] She took acting and singing classes from the age of six. She then began performing in theater productions during elementary school. [5][13] Rodrigo began playing guitar at the age of 12. 12 years old, she was a child who listened to her parents' favourite alternative rock songs like the groups No Doubt, Pearl Jam, the White Stripes, and Green Day. Rodrigo was inspired to write songs by country music, particularly Taylor Swift. [14] She moved from Brazil to Los Angeles following her audition for Bizaardvark.
